At Sussex sash window restoration, we pride ourselves on giving our customers everything that they need to restore a window from help and advice.
We have now seen that there are people that want to try this for themselves
We are now supplying cast lead weights so that the tradesman or a DIY person can have a go themselves at rehanging the sashes themselves. We are now supplying cast lead weights with the diameter of the 32mm and 38mm cast lead weights.
These can be cut to size or we can supply them in just 1,2 and 3lb weights to 600mm bars
Full bars come in at

• 32mm square x 600mm total in weight 13.8lb
• 38mm square x 600mm total in weight 20.lb
• 38mm round x 600mm total in weight 14.8lb

Sash windows are meant to open fully

1lb weights are 40mm in size for 32mm square bars and 38mm round bars and 30mm for the square 38mm bars.
This is so you can work out if there is enough room in the box-frame to allow for adequate opening size for means of escape under a goverment legislation.
